This module focused on learning how to tell a story through audio and encompassed not only the technical aspects, but also how to represent tangible and intangible matters through audio.

In terms of audio, I am primarily a musician, playing guitar and bass, but also singing. Music has defined me for about eight years but it is only in the last five years that I have worked with recording my own music on the IOS app, GarageBand.

What I took away from this course was learning how to interview someone in a way that is effective for audio - how to ask questions to guide the conversation, as well as how to illicit information that I need or want.

Technically, I learned how to adjust the levels, so that my interviewee is on mic and can be heard.

Lastly, I learned the importance of experimentation as it was through experimenting that I got my best audio. For example, I wondered what it would sound like if I recorded the sounds of me making a mug of coffee and by attempting this, I came up with a very effective piece of audio.
